MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS, AN FIM WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP
ROUND 8 / FEBRUARY 24, 2018
TAMPA, FLORIDA / RAYMOND JAMES STADIUM
P54
Unfortunately for Tomac, the win did little to improve his chances
of winning his first 450SX title, as series leader Jason Anderson once
again put in a steady ride for his sixth podium finish of the season in
third. The gap between Anderson and seventh-place Tomac in the
championship now stands at 65 as the 2018 championship nears its
halfway point. Musquin, in second, trails Anderson by 39 points.
The second round of the 250SX East Championship saw a first-time
winner—Austin Forkner. Forkner didn't succumb to race-long pressure
by Dylan Ferrandis and defending champ Zach Osborne to nab the
win by less than a second over Ferrandis. Osborne finished another
six seconds back in third.
(L-R) Tomac (3) and
points leader Jason
Anderson (21) went at
it in their heat race.
Anderson won the heat
but Tomac won the
main. Cooper Webb's
confidence seems to
be getting stronger
each week. He had his
best finish of the year
with a fourth.
