SUPERCROSS ROUND 6 / FEBRUARY 10, 2018 PETCO PARK / SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA P58 MONSTER ENERGY AMA SUPERCROSS iii My Own Race: 92 ADAM CIANCIARULO 2ND 250SX WEST Adam Cianciarulo had a really strong night in San Diego, but he just couldn't stop former teammate Justin Hill. "It was gnarly, man," Cianciarulo said, "but it's awesome to race somebody like that, somebody who races you clean. You don't have to worry about anything too dirty. It was a good race out there. I'm bummed I couldn't finish it off. I put myself in a great position. I've been [saying] I need a start and I get a start and I was a little bit upset not to finish it off; just got a little bit tight. But overall, it was a good day for me. Good starts, a lot of improvement. I'm very encouraged going into this little break that we have and I'm ready to do battle. This thing definitely isn't over. I want to take it all the way to Vegas, for sure." 40 CHASE SEXTON 3RD 250SX WEST Chase Sexton came from behind to snatch third late in the 250SX main event, his second podium of the year so far. "I didn't get off to the best start, some of the ruts in front of the gate were pretty messed up but I got a decent enough start," Sexton said. "These guys were riding good. I passed Joey [Savatgy] and got up behind these two [Cianciarulo and Hill]. They were battling pretty hard and I was trying to be there in case anything happened. But nothing happened and then I got held up by a lapper and they kind of dropped me. But it was a good race. Track got pretty tough at the end, so I'm just happy to get third." 25 MARVIN MUSQUIN 2ND 450SX Marvin Musquin has been recovering from a shoulder injury since round two of the series, and San Diego marked his first podium finish since he suffered that injury. "It feels great," Musquin said. "I'm really happy about my main event [but] not the beginning. The first few laps I not was running the same pace as the guys in front of me, but I stayed con- sistent and tried to be smart; tried to give a run to [Jason] Anderson at the end, but he was a little too far, but the speed was good at the end." 4 BLAKE BAGGETT 3RD 450SX Rocky Mountain ATV-MC KTM's Blake Baggett scored his second podium finish in a row. "I just give it my best shot," Baggett said. "I'm happy to get up here for the second time, back-to-back podiums. Of course, I would like to get a second and get a win in there, but we're just going to keep plugging away until we hit the top spot." Baggett is now tied for fifth in points with Justin Brayton.
