Tomac started 2017 with 5-6-8
finishes before he won his first
main event at round four, and at
that point he was trailing by 25
points. After his A1 crash this year,
he trails by 25 points. And while
there's no doubt that Tomac has
the speed to win, his three cham-
pionship rivals did a much better
job of not losing the champion-
ship at round one, finishing first,
second and fourth. He's got his
work cut out for him over the next
16 races.
