KAWASAKI SHOWS OFF U.S. MODELS
T
he final bikes to come out for the 2018 model year were those of Kawasaki, who chose the New
York Progressive International Motorcycle Show to reveal their new babies to the U.S.
On display were four new bikes—the Ninja 400, H2 SX and SE, ZX-10R SE and the Z900RS—the last
of which we will be testing in a week's time at the American launch in California.
>>NINJA 400
Kawasaki's smallest sport bike
has been given a ground-up
redesign for the 2018 model
year and now sports one of the
largest capacities in the class.
The chassis has also come in
for a rework, with Kawasaki tell-
ing Cycle News the new 400
weighs less than the old 250R
model did when it was discon-
tinued back in 2012.
The New Ninja 400 will sell
for a base MSRP of $4999, up
to $5499 for the KRT and ABS
SE versions. For the full run-
down of Kawasaki's lightweight

>>ZX-10R SE
Kawasaki's flagship super-
bike range grew by one more
machine in New York with the
debut of the new ZX-10R SE,
taking it to three superbikes
alongside the base ZX-10R
and track-focused ZX-10RR.
The SE's big claim to fame
is the fitment of electronically
adjustable and controlled sus-
pension in the Showa Balance
