he 2017 American Flat Track season came
full circle as Jared Mees notched yet
another win at the last race of the year on
the Perris Auto Speedway's banked half mile.
The win bookends his magical year, matching his
opening round win in the Daytona TT.
Indian Motorcycle/Rogers Racing-backed
Mees was crowned 2017 Grand National Cham-
pion after round 16, but kept his record-breaking
pace going on his Indian Scout FTR750. "Once
you win the championship the only thing you want
to do is win the races," said Mees. "This year is
hard to put into words. I thought we could win the
championship, but to go out and dominate like
this with guys that I've finished so close with in
points over the last few years—I kicked their butts.
I don't really know a modest way to put it. We did
it. We set records this year. The one that I'm most
proud of is the grand slam in a single season;
I am like one of three or four that have done it.
