IN THE WIND P32 VILLOPOTO TO RACE RED BULL STRAIGHT RHYTHM F our-time AMA Supercross Champion Ryan Villopoto will com- pete in the Red Bull Straight Rhythm at the Fairplex in Pomona, California, October 21. Villopoto, who retired from full-time profes- sional racing in 2015, will suit up for the Two-Stroke Shootout, which is being introduced this year. Chad Reed has also said he's going to race the Two-Stroke Shootout, including Mike Brown, Ronnie Mac and Ryan Sipes. This will mark the first U.S. race for Villopoto since his retirement in July 2015—and the first time he's ever raced a two-stroke in pro competition. Reed hasn't raced a two-stoke in 12 years, since the 2005 Supercross season. In the Open class, Josh Hill will again compete on the Alta Mo- tors Redshift MX electric bike. And what about Red Bull-sponsored and former Straight Rhythm winner James Stewart? All is still quiet at the Stewart camp. CN CHASING THE HORIZON PODCAST I f you haven't heard it yet, Wes Fleming at BMWmoa.org has a new bi-weekly podcast, called Chasing The Horizon, covering various news topics in the motorcycle industry. His latest podcast, episode five, is now available. "In this episode, we discuss the power sports demo business and the how, where and why of women in motorcycling, not only as riders but as business owners, with Moira Zinn of Powertrip Industries," says Fleming. "This episode also features news from Harley-Davidson about the discontinued V-Rod and what might replace it, Indian's streamliner called the Spirit of Munro, Royal Enfield's sporty new 750cc thumper, and a possible end to the traditional motorcycle business in the state of Califor- nia. We also dish about a raffle that could net you a cool, vintage BMW motorcycle and how to win a free copy of a world traveler's documentary film. "Find out about all that and more in Chasing the Horizon, a podcast by, for and about motor- cyclists. Search for us in iTunes or find us on the web at bmwmoa.org/podcast." CN
