though, I owned a 2010 KTM 250
XC when I lived in Idaho and the
platform was absolutely perfect
there. And, once you ride good
trails, you sort of only want to ride
good trails. That's why these bikes
(two-stroke off-road bikes) are so
popular in the mountains. If I did
own one the TE250i, I'd definitely
go ride it there. As such, I'd put
different tires on it—probably a
hybrid-style tire like Kenda's Equi-
librium or Motoz' Mountain Hybrid
that provide trials-like traction and
decent braking. I'd put mousses
in so I never had to listen to my
friends laugh at me (again) when
I get a flat (again). Full-wrap hand
guards from Enduro Engineering
to keep my lever budget under
control and a MotoMinded LED
headlight system would be a must.
I don't want to stop riding this bike,
why should the sun dictate when I

Tractable power
is on tap with the
TE250i's injection

limiting factor is the
