V Agusta have finally started to right
its financials and are forging ahead
with new models for 2018, the first
of which is the new Turismo Veloce RC.
Based on the standard Turismo Veloce,
the RC gets the special treatment normally
reserved for bikes like the F4RC, the ma-
chine used as the base for the WorldSBK
machine ridden by Leon Camier.
Limited to 250 models worldwide, the
800cc inline three-cylinder RC gets a
revised cylinder head with different valve
guides, a cam chain tensioner, and up-
dated gearing designed for better fuel
efficiency when touring.
The gearbox is new and comes with the
MV Agusta EAS 2.0 (Electronic Assisted
Shift Up & Down) system for clutchless up
and down shifting, and there's eight-stage
traction control and three different riding
maps with a Rain mode that limits power
output to 80 horsepower.
The chassis utilizes the MVICS 2.0
(Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control Sys-
tem) with Sachs electronically adjustable
front and rear suspension that runs off the
Skyhook algorithm, first seen in the Ducati
Multistrada back in 2013.
Aesthetically, the RC gets the same
paintjob as Camier's bike, plus a carbon
front guard, Garmin navigation system, twin
7.9-gallon panniers, revised passenger
seat, a center stand, adjustable windshield,
heated grips, cruise control and forged al-
loy wheels. MSRP: $23,298.
