SUPERBIKE /
SUPERSTOCK 1000
SUNDAY
A champion's mettle is shown
when the chips are down, and
so it was for Elias as he stormed
his way up from as low as sev-
enth on lap one to snatch the
Ecstar Suzuki's Jake Lewis, with
series leader Mathew Scholtz
ninth overall and third in class on
the Yamalube/Westby Racing
YZF-R1. Cycle World Suzuki's
Hayden Gillim rounded out the
top 10, fourth overall in Super-
stock 1000.
fourth in race one at the previous
round at Pittsburg, showing the
2017 Honda CBR1000RR SP2
is finally making some progress
towards the front of the field.
Rounding out the top six
was YCRS/Cambr/KWR's Kyle
Wyman, three seconds behind
the Herrin/Gagne battle in what,

better things on Sunday.
For the Superstock 1000
class, maverick Oklahoman
Danny Eslick took a popular
win for Team TOBC Racing on
the Yamaha YZF-R1 by a shade
over two seconds ahead of M4
(Right) Josh Herrin was understandably
stoked to be back on the factory
Yamaha team in place of the injured
Beaubier. (Below) Jake Gagne (32)
continued his late-season charge with a
fifth and fourth in New Jersey. Here he
leads Josh Herrin (2) and Wyman.
