M
alcolm Smith Motorsports
celebrated its 50th an-
niversary at its retail store in
Riverside, California, August 18.
Founder Malcolm Smith invited
many of his friends and long-
time business partners to attend
a dinner with his family, followed
by a ribbon-cutting ceremony of
Smith's newly created museum,
Malcolm! – The Museum.
The museum, which was
constructed on the second
floor of the building's show-
room, is filled with all kinds of
memorabilia from Smith's long
and illustrious racing career,
including items like trophies and
medals he earned, and helmets
and riding gear that he wore.
Of course, there are plenty of
motorcycles to check out, too,
many of them actually ridden
and/or raced by Smith himself
over the years, like his very first
motorcycle and his sentimen-
tal favorite, a 1982 Husqvarna
430 WR that he rode at Pikes
Peak, Colorado 500 trail rides
and the Tecate Enduro. Some
of the motorcycles on display
were examples of what he rode
in the day, including a Montesa
trials bike, similar to the one he
dazzled people on in the movie
"On Any Sunday." CN
