M
ud races are the wildcards in the world
of motocross and supercross racing.
Anything can happen. Championship
points leads can vanish, or championships can
be solidified, all in the course of one moto. For
championship contenders, mud races are nor-
mally about survival and minimizing damage, but
for Red Bull KTM's Marvin Musquin—a champi-
onship contender himself—the mud at Unadilla
Valley Sports Center in New Berlin, New York,
was just another race. He snagged two more
moto wins to extend his streak to six in a row,
the longest in the series.
And in the 250MX class, Geico Honda's
Jeremy Martin was able to use his mud-riding
prowess to move himself back to the top of the
class after spending much of the summer chas-
ing his competition farther back in the pack. Not
since High Point had Martin managed to win an
overall, but at Unadilla, his strong 2-1 showing
gave him another win on the series.

The 450MX pack is
clean for now, but that
would quickly change.
