VOL. 54 ISSUE 29 JULY 25, 2017 P71
His brother ended the day with a couple
crashes and 4-5 score for fourth overall.
The biggest story of the 250MX class, how-
ever, was Osborne's near DNF. He may have
inadvertently kicked his right-side radiator hose
and caused his bike to vacate all of its coolant
with about 10 minutes still to go in the moto. He
was battling for fourth place at the time after a
poor start, and with the hills and sand whoops at
Spring Creek, it seemed unlikely he would finish
the moto and score any points in the opening
moto.
However, somehow, Osborne managed to nurse
his Husqvarna around, without any smoke—which
means without any coolant—for over eight minutes
and only managed to fall back to eighth place
(thanks in part to late crashes by British visitor Ste-
ven Clarke and Geico Honda's Chase Sexton)!
