VOL. 54 ISSUE 26 JULY 4, 2017 P69
RedBud's famous sand whoops,
handing Harrison the lead.
Now, all eyes were on Os-
borne who was making a move.
He went after A-Mart immedi-
ately and pushed his way by only
two turns after the fall, and then
with three laps to go, Osborne
shoved his way past Harrison
after the sand whoops to take
the lead.
And that was it. Osborne took
the moto and overall win.
"It was a tough moto," Os-
borne said. "I got off to a mid-
pack start, maybe 12th or 15th,
and just put my head down.
I knew Alex was out of reach
when I got up to like fifth, but
I thought I could maybe get to
Mitchell. And then Alex had
a small fall and I managed to
take the win. It's been a tough
week because I have a bad
ear infection and didn't know
how it was going to go today,
so to come away with a win is
amazing."
Harrison ended up second
in the moto after just hold-
ing off A-Mart for the last few
laps. It was Harrison's best
moto finish (second) and best
overall finish (fourth) so far
in his young career. Behind
A-Mart came Ferrandis, then
Hill, Renzland, Sexton and
then J-Mart in eighth.
With the 2-1 score, Osborne
increased his championship
lead to 38 at the halfway point
in the series. CN
