IN THE WIND P56 STREAK STOPPER RAGA WINS TRIALGP ANDORRA A dam Raga (TRRS) won the war of attrition high in the Pyrenees at the TrialGP Andorra, round three of the 2017 FIM Trial World Championship, June 18. On a long, hot and physically demanding day the Spaniard kept his cool to inflict the first defeat of the year on reigning champion Toni Bou (Repsol Honda) and reduce his compa- triot's series advantage to just 10 points. The result also ties Raga with the great Dougie Lampkin on seven wins apiece at TrialGP Andorra. "I'm always delighted to beat Toni," said Raga, "and to stop his unbeaten run makes today's result even more special. I've been working very hard on my physical conditioning and on the motorcycle and this preparation has paid off today. "The team has also put a lot of effort into the bike and I'm confident we now have every- thing in place to challenge for further wins until the end of the season." Bou, who has been in im- perious form this year, actually slipped to third, as his teammate Jaime Busto picked up a career- first podium with a strong ride to second in what was a very close finish. "The worst mistake was the one that I made in section 14," said Bou. "I did the section virtu- ally without looking. I was really running out of time and I went outside of the permitted zone. That error proved really costly and basically robbed me of the victory. The other penalties were to be expected, but that one at the 14th… Well, we all know these are things that can hap- pen, so the only thing we can do is keep on fighting round by round in the championship." Spain's Jorge Casales (Beta) took fourth from Japan's Taka- hisa Fujinami (Repsol Honda). Spanish riders filled the next three places with Jeroni Fajardo (Vertigo) sixth ahead of Albert Cabestany (Sherco) and Arnau Farre (GasGas). CN Adam Raga (67) put an end to Toni Bou's (1) win streak in the FIM TrialGP Championship in Andorra. Jaime Busto (65) got on the podium for the first time. PHOTOGRAPHY HONDA HRC
