like, 'Man, I could try to sprint
away from this thing and just re-
ally just ride alone at that point,
or I could maybe just try to bunch
up the pack a little bit and wait
for a mistake and see what could
happen, you know?" Tomac said.
"When the pack tightens up, the
nerves come around to all the
guys, and there's battling, and
there's bumping, and that's all I
could do at that point. I wasn't
just going to lay over for this thing
and give it away, you know?"
Tomac slowed, and little by
little, the pack did bunch up
behind him, and Dungey was un-
derstandably reluctant to make a
move around Tomac. But at some
point Dungey had to because the
guys behind him weren't likely
to just wait around. So Dungey
passed Tomac and immediately
Tomac flew to the inside in the
bowl turn before the track's only
triple jump and slammed Dungey
off the track.
Dungey raced alongside
the triple to rejoin the race just
behind Tomac, and then Tomac
slowed up some more until, on
the final lap, Dungey did it again,
this time before the triple, and

was trying to
stall Dungey's
momentum on
the last lap,
Jason Anderson
(21) was able to
sneak by and
take the win.
