Tonglet defeated three
other riders to win the
NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at
zMax Dragway in Charlotte,
North Carolina, April 28-30.
Tonglet won the final by beating
Screamin' Eagle Harley-David-
son teammates Eddie Krawiec
and Andrew Hines as well as
Scotty Pollacheck, the rider of
the Underdahl Racing, Suzuki
Extended Protection Suzuki. The
Four-Wide Nationals is a unique
drag racing event where com-
petitors race four-abreast on the
four lanes of zMax Dragway. The
first and second-place finishers
from each heat advance until the
final, where a winner is crowned.
"This is unbelievable, espe-
cially after what we've gone
through this weekend," Tonglet
said. "We qualified number
eight and that's not that great.
Everything just worked out in
our favor. I ran 6.82 in the first
round and the bike hauled butt
the rest of the day. This is really
cool. There is only one Four-
Wide race a year so there are
not many people who have done
this. It means a lot. In year's past
we've had bad luck in first or
second round. For everything
