VOL. 54 ISSUE 16 APRIL 25, 2017 P65
Jorge Lorenzo (Ducati) had been an early victim, after
starting strongly from the second row, and by lap two, he
was seventh behind teammate Andrea Dovizioso. Dovi would
hold a lone sixth to the end, while Lorenzo had company
throughout.
At first he was shadowed by Jack Miller (VDS Honda),
never quite close enough to attack, thanks to the Ducati's
turn of speed on the long straight. By the end, however, An-
drea Iannone (Ecstar Suzuki) had come through from 11th on
lap one, picking up Danilo Petrucci (Pramac Ducati) on the
way. Both were ahead of Lorenzo with two laps to go, and
(Left) Pedrosa
led much of
the race before
giving way to
Marquez and
Rossi. (Right)
Johann Zarco
ran a smart race,
cracking the top
five. (Below) Cal
Crutchlow made
it three Hondas in
the top four.
