VOL. 54 ISSUE 15 APRIL 18, 2017 P29 place finish in the second moto dropped him to fourth place, leaving Suratt to claim the big win aboard his Honda CR250, followed by Mike Sleeter with a 3-2 for second overall and Jon Ames with a 2-4 rounding out the podium in third place. Another highlight of the second pro moto was Brandon Scharer, the young rider piloting a Honda CR500 to a blistering third place. But coupled with his 28th-place finish in the first moto, it was only good enough for 15th overall. A total of 375 entries filled a number of sportsman classes, which included age classes and three divisions for vintage machines. The annual event ac- commodates anything cam-less, as the flier declares: "Any year, make or model, as long as it's a two-stroke." The 50+ Expert class was rather stacked, with some big names highlighting the field. Beta USA's Rodney Smith, five- time GNCC champion and AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famer, sailed to victory with a 1-1 score, best- ing Husqvarna's Andy Jefferson who carded a 2-2 for second place. Pete Murray completed the 50+ podium with a 3-3. Other notable winners in- cluded Billy Jurevich in the 30+ Expert class, 60+ Expert winner Bob Casper, and Robbie Wageman who topped the field in the 125 Pro class. CN Pro Overall: 1.
