After last week's issue in Texas,
Tomac showed up in Minne-
apolis ready to go to work, and
promptly set the fastest qualify-
ing time, a full second faster
than Red Bull KTM's Marvin
Musquin in second.
In the main event, Honda's
Cole Seely took the holeshot but
fell on lap one when he found
a loose spot of dirt and lost the
weekend in Texas. He is the
dominant force right now, pe-
riod. Just like he was in the 2015
AMA Nationals prior to getting
hurt.
And in the 250cc class, Mon-
ster Energy Pro Circuit Kawa-
saki's Joey Savatgy has stamped
the 250SX East as his to lose.
Anyone who wants that title is
going to have to go through him
to get it.
In the four races since that
event, though, what we've seen
is exactly that Eli Tomac from
2015. As it turns out, it wasn't
his fitness or his mentality or his
ability on a motorcycle that were
holding him back. It was simply
his bike setup.
