VOL. 54 ISSUE 7 FEBRUARY 22, 2017 P29 250AX West Lites 1. Heath Harrison (Yam) 2. Ryan Breece (Kaw) 3. Dylan Bolinger (Yam) 4. Jared Lesher (KTM) 5. Jeramy Taylor (KTM) Cycle Trader and Rock River) and Matt Georke (Rockstar En- ergy/OTSFF/Yamaha) fought for position right behind the leader. Blose managed to get around Owen but couldn't quite get close enough to Faith to chal- lenge the soon-to-be winner of the race. Blose had to settle for second, while Owen took third, just ahead of Goerke. Gared Steinke (Kawasaki) was fifth. In the second and final race, Faith edged out Owen for the holeshot, and as they fought for positions, both Goerke and Blose slipped past the two, dropping Faith to third and Owen to fourth. Faith was pressuring Blose for second when the red flag came out for a fallen rider on the 12th lap. This meant the race had to be stopped and restarted, single file. This turn of events would benefit Owen most; he blasted off the restart and shot into second place and stayed there for the duration of the race. Goerke held on for the win (his first of the year), with Owen taking second and Faith, who managed to get around Blose before it was all over, third. Blose ended up having more troubles and took the checkered flag in seventh. Owen was awarded the overall victory but failed to gain any points on his nearest rival, Faith, in the championship. Owen still leads Faith by 17 points. Goerke is third, nine points behind Faith. The Missouri race was also the first round of the 250AX West Lites Championship. Alabama's Heath Harrison (Mo- tosport/Quick Roofing/Super Charged Energy Yamaha) got into the lead early in the race and never looking back en route to victory. Ryan Breece (Team Babbitt's/ GPF/Monster Energy Kawasaki/ MMCR) ended up taking second after an impressive come-from- behind ride. Yamaha rider Dylan Bolinger had a strong ride and finished out the night on the podium in third. CN 250AX Overall 1. Jace Owen (Hon) 3-2 2. Gavin Faith (Kaw) 1-3 3. Matt Goerke (Yam) 4-1 4. Gared Steinke (Kaw) 5-4 5. Chris Blose (Yam) 2-7 Matt Georke got his first main-event victory of the year in the second main. Heath Harrison won the opening round of the West Championship.
