times were good enough to give
him second for the weekend.
"It's good to get my first win
in this series—it's a series and a
format I like," said Sipes after all
was said and done. "Yesterday I
struggled a bit in the enduro tests
and that didn't sit well with me. I
won all three of the cross tests,
but I feel like I should be winning
those because of my motocross
background. I wanted to win the
enduro test too, so I spent a little
extra time looking at lines and it
worked out.
"That last injury I had in Oc-
tober kept me off the bike for
two-and-a-half months, and start-
ing your training in the middle of
winter in Kentucky is not an ideal
situation," added Sipes. "I was
able to ride a lot at home but you
never know how fast you are until
you're able to go to a race, so it's

Steward Baylor pretty much matched
Sipes test by test on the first day, but
couldn't catch him on Sunday. Baylor
still took second overall.
