good to come here and get a win. I feel good about where I'm at, although I still have a ways to go to get where I want to be." Beta's Jordan Ashburn improved as the race went on. He was fourth at the end of the first day, 17 points behind Rus- sell Bobbitt (FMF/KTM). But he pulled all that time back and then some and finished out the weekend on the podium in third. "We made some changes after Saturday and I came into Sunday's event knowing I had a big deficit to make up and we were able to get it done," said Ashburn. "I think today's course kind of flowed better and that suited my style. I think I made up most of my time in the enduro test, but the last test of the day was a cross test and that's where I needed to gain four seconds to get third, so I just hammered down and did it." Bobbitt ended up fourth. "I just was a little off today," said Bobbitt. "I felt really good on Saturday, but I feel like I wasn't comfortable on the bike on Sun- day. I was competing for wins on Saturday but today I was just off." Cory Buttrick (SRT Racing/ KTM) had to dig himself out of a hole early in the race Saturday after suffering a broken brake pedal. He put that all behind him and worked his way back up over the weekend to finish fifth overall. Sweden's Jesper Borjesson (KR4 Arrive-N-Ride/Husqvarna) finished sixth overall, and Ricky Russell (N-FAB/Am Pro Yamaha) edged out Ian Blythe by just 10 seconds to take seventh. Andrew DeLong (Coastal Racing), was ninth and Jesse Groemm (Solid Performance KTM) was 10th. Australians Tayla Jones and Mackenzie Tricker battled it out for the Women's Pro title. Tricker held the upper hand after Saturday's event, but Jones, who helped lead the Australian Wom- en's team to an ISDE victory last year, was able to make a come- back on Sunday and take the win by eight seconds over Tricker. KTM's Becca Sheets was third overall. Billy Schlag topped the Open A division, while Cole Mattison won the Lites A division. Mattison ended up being the top Amateur-class rider. The Junior classes are the future of any series, and the South Carolina race fea- tured some intense racing among the 41 youth riders signed. Zachary Davidson, Seth Stevens and Dillon Zimpel came away with the top three positions in the Junior classes. The event was also a round of the AMA ISDE Qualifier Series and of the 390 total entries (a Kenda Full Gas Sprint Enduro record) 27 were Letter of Intent (LOI) riders (those intending to qualify for the ISDE). The top three LOI riders were Ty Tremaine, Jacob Row- land and Brendan Riordan. Shan Moore OVERALL 1. Ryan Sipes (Hus) 1:10:44.703 2. Steward Baylor (KTM) 1:11:16.688 3.
