IN THE WIND P32 KTM ISSUES WORLDWIDE RECALL K TM has issued a worldwide recall for the 1190 Adventure, Adventure R and 1290 Super Adventure R due to a faulty ABS control module and brake line. "Following market investi- gations by KTM it has been determined that due to devia- tions in the assembly process, in isolated cases, contact may oc- cur between the wiring harness and the ABS modulator," says a release from KTM. "Measure- ments have shown that an elec- trical connection may be created via the brake line between the ABS modulator and the vehicle ground. For this to occur, the wiring harness must be frayed and must be in contact with the ABS modulator and the brake line must be electrically conduc- tive. This only occurs in very rare cases. A conductive brake line can overheat and ultimately melt which can result in failure of a brake system circuit." The recall is a big one for the Austrian manufacturer, who says affected customers will be sent a letter asking them to imme- diately report to an authorized KTM dealer to have the recall carried out, free of charge. Of course, if you think this recall affects you and haven't yet seen a letter, contact your local KTM dealer. With help from Beta I believe I can take my career to the top!" Beta team manager Zack Huberty said, "I'm excited to take on hare and hound with Joe this year. He has an incredible story and is clearly a natural at racing. With our added support and the special 480 RR we are building him, I feel good things will come. CN No brakes can be a bit of an issue with a bike as big as a Super Adventure R! Luckily, KTM is onto it. Joe Wasson will take on both the AMA Hare & Hound and West Hare Scrambles Series for Beta USA.
