Aprilia secured seventh before
half distance; Miller was left to
battle to and fro with Pol Espar-
garo (Monster Yamaha) and a
closing Danilo Petrucci (Pramac
Ducati). They crossed the line
in that order, covered by 1.5
seconds.
Eighth made Miller the top
Honda finisher. Another couple
of seconds down, Marquez was
11th, having passed both Eugene
Ducatis had caught him, Loris
Baz leading Hector Barbera, and
both were ahead on lap eight.
The teammates battled until
Barbera finally found his way
past with four laps to go—fourth
his career-best finish, and Baz
out of touch by the end in fifth.
Vinales was a lone sixth.
Behind them, Jack Miller (EG-
VDS Honda) had fallen back into
another group. Alvaro Bautista's
Lorenzo some 10 seconds adrift,
there was lively action in their
wake.
While Aleix Espargaro had
run on at turn one and dropped
to 12th on lap three, teammate
Maverick Vinales had been los-
ing ground in seventh. He had
been fast in the dry, "but we
still struggle in the wet, with the
electronics," he said. Before
one-third distance, both Avintia
