About the bike:
The Limited Edition R-1, with its special 50th anniversary livery, truly separated
itself from the standard version. The striking yellow race graphics paid homage
to the early race days of Yamaha®. What really set the R-1LE apart was the Ohlins®
suspension and Marchesini® wheels. A back torque-limiting slipper clutch and a
lap timer rounded out the package, making the LE truly a street legal racer.
Only 500 units were produced for the United States market.
