IN THE WIND P40 KTM'S ROAD TO QATAR O ne of the best things about the 2017 MotoGP World Championship will be the arrival of KTM as a full-on manufac- turer, racing against the might of Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki and Aprilia. KTM's been in MotoGP before, but it was a rather disastrous endeavor as an engine supplier to the now defunct Team Roberts outfit. Now, the brand that's growing faster than any other in world motorcycling will jump head first into MotoGP with riders Bradley Smith and Pol Espargaro with an all-new machine developed entirely in house – the RC16. This first video concentrates on the develop- ment of the V4 engine, and we'll have more of these awesome videos as they come to light from KTM in Europe. Sit back and enjoy… CN NEW TRACK FOR WINTER OLYMPICS T he upcoming 45th Thor Winter Olympics, pre- sented by Pro Circuit, will see a couple new tracks for the riders to compete and practice on at Gatorback Cycle Park, in Gainesville, Florida. The supercross track has been rebuilt and widened by track builder Mark Barnett, the former AMA Supercross and MX champion. Track owner Wyn Kern said that the wooded area behind the SX track has been cleared out, which allowed the SX track to be widened and to make room for additional rhythm lanes with different options for better racing. The first turn has also been cleared out, and Barnett went to work on creating the newest MX track property. The new MX track has more elevation changes and the popular Elevator Jump has been recre- ated on the new course. The new MX track, which will be known as the Diamondback Track, will have it's first practice on Sunday, November 13, and is open to public. The Diamondback's second practice will be on Saturday, November 19, and opened to all Mini O participants, giving them practice time on the new track before the big race, which gets underway, Monday, November 21. Kern said that the new Diamondback track will be part of his Winter-Am and Gold Cup Series for 2017. For more information, click here.
