ing a good recovery after losing
an engine on Friday morning.
Savadori went sixth and the first
BMW was the Althea version,
from Jordi Torres, seventh.
Nicky Hayden (Honda World
Superbike) had the bad luck to
have one of his engines go in
the first race, and then finish up
only ninth in race two. This was
his first racing visit to Magny-
Cours.
"It has certainly not been the
smoothest weekend for us," said
the American. "I got a decent
start and lost some positions
more engine stuff. Zero."
Rea finished second even-
tually and in doing so he had
conspired to leave a WorldSBK
weekend with some more drama
in his experience locker, but
with a points advantage over
Sykes that had grown by a single
point—as it had done for the last
three events.
Davies' race-two win was
by just over two seconds, and
Camier was massively over-per-
forming on the sweet handling
"I was quite surprised at gap-
ping them at the end," said Da-
vies, who followed it up with, "I
thought it was going to go to the
flag. But I did put the hammer
down and did a 1:38.1, which is
not slow at that point of the race.
All [of our improvement] is down
to our summer testing. Just
the geometry changes we did,
compared to before. We have no
