Takaaki Nakagami (Idemitsu Kalex)
and Morbidelli had closed up to Luthi
by half distance, and Morbidelli took
over third on lap 14. At this point he
was 2.2 seconds adrift of his teammate
in second, but he closed remorseless-
ly. If the race had been one lap longer
he might have taken the position. As it
was his attack into the last pair of cor-
ners was "like shooting from a long way
away," and though he did get ahead he
ran wide and Marquez exited alongside
him, and half-a-length in front past the
flag.
Luthi saved fourth, with Nakagami
dropping away, but the main interest
was on a pack of four going for sixth.
As Baldassari and Rins disputed the
front of it, Zarco picked his way past
Jonas Folger (Dynavolt Kalex) and with
six laps to go, also Simone Corsi's
Sam Lowes
gained valuable
championship
points with a strong
win in Moto2.
