It was a massive turnaround for
the 30-year-old, who had been in
danger of his first MotoGP sea-
son in 11 years without a race win.
He has had just two podiums this
season, and one (in Argentina) was
because of several riders falling off
in front him.
Rossi had no answer. "I was
looking at Marquez and Lorenzo,
and I thought my pace was good
enough to win. I was very happy.
But when Dani came, he was just
too fast."
The day before he'd warned of
Pedrosa's pace, saying, "It is lucky
he is on the third row of the grid".
And for Lorenzo, "I can't be
happy. I had no problems, but
they were faster than me. But I am
happy for Dani, after a very hard
period. Today just wasn't my day,
but the podium is good anyway."
