BRADLEY SMITH ROPED IN FOR 8 HOURS
OF OSCHERSLEBEN
M
otoGP star Bradley Smith has been called
up for duty at the 8 Hours of Oschersleben
on August 27 to try and help the Yamaha Austria
Racing Team (YART) claim the Endurance World
Championship crown with teammates Broc Parkes
and Marvin Fritz.
The 2016 EWC final will see
eight teams all in contention for
the win, with Team April Motors
Events holding an eight-point
lead over SCR Kawasaki and
YART, both teams tied at 60 points.
It will be the second endurance race Smith has
competed in, having been part of Yamaha's his-
toric 2015 Suzuka 8 Hours team that took victory
that year.
"Broc Parkes and Marvin Fritz are very close to
a championship win. It's all resting on the round
in Oschersleben, so I'm proud that they have
decided to choose me as a rider to help support
them in the final race of the series," Smith said. "I
love endurance and I loved the Suzuka 8 Hours
last year so it just seemed a perfect fit and a great
way to help the team finish off the job and hope-
fully become World Champions." CN
SKULLY FOUNDERS IN MAJOR HOT WATER
F
ormer Skully Helmet employee Isabelle Faithauer has alleged the recently ousted founding brothers,
Marcus and Mitch Weller, used company funds to pay for a staggering amount of goods and ser-
vices that might help explain how a company with nearly $15 million in crowdfunded cash via Indiegogo
went belly up last week, resulting in the loss of 50 jobs.
Faithauer acted as the Skully bookkeeper and
has bought a suit in the San Francisco County
Superior Court for wrongful termination, as well
as alleging the Wellers took several overseas and
local trips, rented lavish San Francisco apartments,
moving and cleaning expenses, bought luxury
sports cars and motorcycles and even paid for gro-
ceries, all using funds allotted for the development,
and delivery of, the Skully AR-1 augmented-reality
HUD helmet.
With Skully officially shutting last week, it seems
very unlikely at this stage customers and investors
who put financial faith in the company will ever see
a return on investment.
No court date has yet been set. CN
Smith has a pedigree
in Endurance racing.
Here he is on his way
to victory in the 2015
Suzuka 8 Hours.
It just keeps getting
worse and worse for the
Skully duo.
