MOTOCROSS LUCAS OIL AMA PRO MOTOCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 9 / JULY 23, 2016 WASHOUGAL, WASHINGTON / WASHOUGAL MX PARK P58 Hill, Savatgy got a run on Webb and ran him way wide, then stopped and held Webb there while Forkner went by them both and into the lead. Webb went back at Savatgy immediately at the bottom of the next hill's S-turns and not only pushed Savatgy wide, but held him there in a little tit-for-tat. The problem was, Webb went down as Cianciarulo glanced off of Jer- emy Martin's back in the melee. In third came defending champ and teammate Jeremy Martin, then Osborne, Savatgy's teammates Adam Cianciarulo and Arnaud Tonus, Justin Hill, Aaron Plessinger and then For- kner in 10th. In moto two, Webb managed to grab a rare holeshot in front of Savatgy and Jeremy Martin, and then Jeremy Martin gave up third to Forkner in the second turn. As the racers crested Horsepower Savatgy was forced to settle for a close second just behind Alex Martin, who took his first moto win of the season (despite leading 40 laps coming into the Washougal National). Savatgy blamed himself for being unable to get around Alex Martin. "It's my fault," Savatgy said. "I had a few opportunities maybe where I could've stuck a wheel in there and made some contact." Rookie Austin Forkner captured his first career moto win as a pro in the second 250MX moto. A bizarre 10-1 combo gave him second overall.
