VOL. 53 ISSUE 29 JULY 26, 2016 P37
Carson Brown, riding a Honda
CR125R, was blazing fast on the
red bike and scored a wire-to-
wire victory, while former factory
racers Ivan Tedesco and David
Pingree fought tooth and nail
over second place. Tedesco,
riding a full-on Mitch Payton-
tuned Pro Circuit Kawasaki
KX125, did just manage to hold
off Pingree, riding a highly modi-
fied, all-white Yamaha YZ125, for
runner-up honors. Another for-
mer national rider Jason Thomas
was entered but was late to the
line after the parade lap and
gave the field a quarter-lap head
start.
Josh Hansen was also set
to compete, but his bike didn't
make it through practice, and
finding a spare 125cc two-stroke
piston and top-end parts in just a
few hours proved impossible, so
Hansen had to watch from the
sidelines.
The many watched the race
said that they hope this will be a
regular thing at the Washougal
National, and some said they
hope it morphs into something
bigger, like a championship
series of some sort! And who
wouldn't want to see that hap-
pen? No one. CN
Tedesco and David Pingree
had a monumental battle
over second place. Tedesco
managed to fight him off.
Ivan Tedesco
(9) got off to
a fast start
in the 125
Dream Race
at Washougal.
