CARSON WINS 125CC DREAM RACE
INVITATIONAL
"D
owntown" Carson Brown
was the big winner in what
just might turn into an annual
thing at the AMA Pro Motocross
National at Washougal MX in
Washington.
For the first time, the 125
Dream Race Invitational played
out at halftime during the
Washougal National and people
loved it. It was a three-lap, pin-it
wide-open race that pitted a full
gate of 40 racers on 125cc two-
stroke motocross bikes. It was a
sight, and sound, to behold.
"We're excited to bring the
125 Dream Race Invitational
to the fans at the Washougal
National," said organizer Joey
Lancaster. "It's not just about
racing a 125, it's about the future
of the motocross industry. It's
about keeping a component
of motocross affordable and
accessible to everyone. That's
what we're all about and that's
why we are so excited about the
Dream Race."
The Dream Race was a big
hit among both spectators and
racers. After all, it's been a long
time since anyone at a national
heard a pack of 125cc two-
strokes all pinned and scream-
ing up Washougal's Horsepower
Hill, or any track's hill for that
matter. The field was made up
of mostly current Yamaha, KTM
and Husqvarnas, and many
non-current but still plenty fast
and competitive older Japanese
models, like Honda's CR125 and
Kawasaki's KX125.
And the racing was quite
good.
