win for Montesa as they secured
the manufacturers' title for an
incredible 19th time.
Toni said, "This is an amaz-
ing moment for both me and the
team. To be able to take such a
great victory and to produce my
best riding and in doing so take
the win, number 200 for Mon-
tesa and on a day when we won
the manufacturer's title too feels
so good."
Bou was just as impressive
the next day. In sunny condi-
tions, Bou again was an easy
winner with his winning advan-
tage being 20 marks over Raga.
Despite Raga's best efforts he
was unable to keep in contact
with Bou as the trial wore on and
finally finished 14 marks in front
of third place Cabestany. Cabes-
tany can count himself slightly
fortunate as he edged Fajardo
off the podium by a single mark.
With Fajardo in fourth, Fujinami
again could only manage fifth
place on what was a disappoint-
ing weekend for the veteran
campaigner.
Busto was one place higher
on day two as he took sixth spot
ahead of James Dabill (Vertigo)
in seventh who was unable to
repeat his podium placing from
24 hours earlier. Eighth, ninth
and 10th positions were filled
by Karlsson, Miquel Gelabert
(Sherco) and Kadlec on day two.
Now with a 31-point lead at
the top of the championship
standings, Bou has one hand
on the title as he explained:
"Today again was important for
the championship, but today my
riding was not at the same level
as yesterday. I liked the trial to-
day as the sections were much
harder, but I didn't have a good
feeling this morning. Finally I
made some good rides on the
last lap. Now I am ready to take
some holidays and to be ready
for the final GP in Italy." CN
