FLAT TRACK AMA PRO FLAT TRACK SERIES, PRESENTED BY VANCE & HINES ROUND 5 / MAY 21, 2016 CAL-EXPO FAIRGROUNDS/SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA P98 tire. I'm happy with third." Also posting his best GNC 1 finish ever was Vanderkooi Racing/Don's Kawasaki's Jarod Vanderkooi. "That was my best overall finish. I got fifth here last year and fourth this year. I'm excited," said the 2015 Rookie of the Year. "We haven't ridden this bike this year. Woody Kyle put it together. He built the motor for us; the thing ran awesome. Ben Evans had it handling right. Ben and my Dad made a good judge- ment on setup for the main event. We moved forward, I went from the third row up to fourth. I was excited. I was making passes late in the race. I kind of fell back early and started slowing up to added Coolbeth. "He's just so tough on these big tracks. His bike works well and he works well with it. We just have to out- smart him." Bonsey's late race charge came up just short. "That was my best mile finish. I was going for that 'W' but I didn't have quite enough," said Bonsey. "My tire was gone. I don't know where theirs was at, but my tire was completely slicked at the end. That kind of came into play a lit- tle bit. I just spun up on the rear end of that pack behind Kenny and Bryan. I had to ride so hard in the corners to keep up with those guys on the straights. I think I just kind of smoked my the front straightaway. We came up a wheel-length short, which was closer than I thought we were going to be. I think I kind of screwed up a little bit, actually. I lagged back a little bit coming off of four to get a better run on him, but was still too close. The bike ran good all day. We will just keep building on it. It's been a rough couple of weeks. I was here to win. We gave it our all. I'm just coming to the races to win and have fun, no stress and no championship stuff. That's when I usually do the best. "We just need a little luck on our side. We'll be good if we can keep that green guy behind us," Henry Wiles (17) leads third-place finisher Stevie Bonsey. Bonsey went on to finish out the night on the box.
