ARGUBRIGHT'S TURN AT
JERICHO NATIONAL H&H

t's kind of a repeat with a
little bit better result," Jacob
Argubright replied when asked if
winning the Sage Riders Nation-
al Hare & Hound—round three
of the Kenda/SRT AMA Hare &
Hound National Championship
Series and hosted by the Sage
Riders Motorcycle Club—made
up for leading most of round
two last month, only to drown
his bike a couple miles from the
finish.
In nearly perfect conditions
at the Little Sahara Recreation
Area, thanks to some overnight
rain and lingering clouds, the
Rockstar Energy Husqvarna
Factory Racing Off-road Team
desert racer battled with Johnny
Campbell Racing Honda's Ricky
Brabec for most of the three-
loop, 86-mile race; 2014 series
champ Brabec doing most of
the leading until he got lost at
the start of the last loop.
That gave Argubright the
chance to close in and then
pass the current series points
leader, and for the rest of the
loop, they went back and forth.
"It kind of gave me a new
[lease on] life, seeing him [right
in front of me]," Bel-Ray/Motion
Pro/Fly Racing FC 450-mount-
ed Argubright said. "After that,
we just battled, like back and
forth. It was easier to follow. We
had some good passes, but it
was all clean—it was awesome!"
After one final pass, Argu-
bright managed to build enough
of a gap to ensure his first vic-
tory of the season, though it was
painful due to a tendon injury in
his hand he'd suffered the week
before at the Virginia City Grand
Prix. "My hand was killing me! I
really need to work on it be-
cause towards the end I was just
spent," he admitted.
"The first two loops were
really good," Brabec acknowl-
edged, the Lucas Oil/Pro
Circuit/Arai CRF450X rider
continuing, "I was riding good; I
thought for sure I had it wrapped

control late in the

great duel.
