VOL. 53 ISSUE 19 MAY 17, 2016 P33
up. All I had to do was get
to the end.
"It's frustrating for sure
leading [only to lose it late
in the race], but Jake had
to go through the same
thing at Idaho."
But second was good
enough to keep Brabec at
the top of the series points
chart, his total now 80
points as he now turns his
attention to next week's
rally in northern Africa,
leaving for it on Wednes-
day. Argubright's triumph
vaulted him to second in
points with 56 after his Idaho
fiasco where he earned just one
point for finishing 20th.
Purvines Racing Beta's Axel
Pearson managed to recover
from a horrible start and smash-
ing his foot on a rock to fin-
ish third on his Kenda/Motul/
Klim-backed 480 RR. "I don't
know; I rode good [after that],"
he said. "I was just charging
hard. I was looking ahead good
and I passed guys really easy, I
thought."
As a bonus, his season-best
finish moved him to a tie for third
with Rick's Custom Shutters &
Blinds Yamaha's Ryan Smith,
who tallied sixth on the day.
Rocky Mountain ATV-MC/Pre-
cision Concepts Yamaha-mount-
ed Justin Morgan finally shook
the bad luck that's been dogging
him lately to finish a best-to-date
fourth followed by FMF Pro 250
winner Joe Wasson, the class
winner for the second round in a
row, padding his points lead over
Nick Stover who had an off day
in finishing eighth in class and
25th overall.
Notch Peak Racing KTM's
Nick Tolman parlayed an excel-
lent start to finish second place
in the FMF Pro 250 class and
seventh overall followed by Coo-
per Ashton (third FMF Pro 250),
Chidester Transportation Racing
Kawasaki's Max Eddy, Jr. and
Taran Taylor.
The FMF KTM Factory Off-
road Racing Team was not rep-
resented as both Ivan Ramirez
and round-two winner Gary
Sutherlin are recovering from
recent surgeries.
Mark Kariya
Joe Wasson (X45)
enjoyed another
great start aboard
his YZ250. Here,
he lies third shortly
after the bomb,
following eventual
runner-up Ricky
Brabec with Nick
Burson (657) fourth.
After dominating
the Big Wheel
150cc (12-
15) class on
Saturday, Tyler
Lynn stepped
up to the FMF
Pro 250 class on
Sunday, finishing
fourth in class.
