FAITH CAPTURES RICKY CARMICHAEL CUP The final round of the AM- SOIL Arenacross Race to the Championship played out inside the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas on Friday night, May 6, and Team Babbitt's/Monster Energy/AMSOIL Kawasaki's Chris Blose came away with the overall victory after topping both main events (as well as the RMATV-MC Head 2 Head Chal- lenge), but unfortunately for him, it wasn't enough to overcome the small eight-point deficit to his teammate Gavin Faith in the 2016 Arenacross Champion- ship. Blose managed to close to within five points of Faith but that would be it. Faith, who finished second to Blose in both mains at the Las Vegas final, collected his first career Arenacross Champion- ship at the end of the night, claiming nine main-event wins over the course of the season, while Blose won six mains. Third in the championship went to another Babbitts Kawa- saki rider—Jacob Hayes. He went 3-3 on the night and finished out the season with 10 main-event wins. KTM rider Travis Sewell (176 points/six wins) and Honda rider Jace Owen (172 points/one win) rounded out the top five in the championship. "I don't know if I've even been so nervous coming into a weekend," said Faith. "Chris [Blose] has been riding great all year and I knew he was going to bring it tonight. It just feels so good [to win the title]. I'm a little speechless right now. It feels incredible to win the Ricky Car- michael Cup. I've been working with Ricky and we're bringing it back home to the Carmichael Farm. It's awesome. It's been a long season and we've worked really hard for this, so to finally make it happen feels incredible." "I came out and did every- thing I could tonight to win the overall," said Blose. "I'm pretty bummed to get second in the championship, but we made a lot of progression from last year and we have to be proud of IN THE WIND P32 PHOTOGRAPHY BY SHIFTONE PHOTOGRAPHY
