"I started tightening up and getting arm pump and I realized [Yorba] was starting to come up so I made little mistakes be- cause I was trying to keep riding through my arm pump," Shirey admitted. "Then I decided to back it down because I knew he was still moving and I couldn't hang on any more." Yorba eventually took the checkered flag alone after an hour, 33 minutes and three seconds with Shirey almost two minutes behind and Thompson taking third just over two minutes behind Shirey. Most important to Thompson, though, was he maintained his hold on first in points with 117, Yorba now at 108, unof- ficially. Rocky Mountain ATV-MC/Precision Concepts Kawasaki teammates Justin Seeds and Robby Bell took fourth and fifth, a slight oil leak forcing Bell to nurse his FMF/Ame Grips/MSR KX450F from the first lap on. Tatum Sik proved unbeatable over the weekend, winning both Women Expert and WCGP Women Pro—the third time she's performed that feat this season.
