YORBA STRIKES AGAIN IN PRIMM BIG 6
A
fter winning round four in
dry, dusty conditions, 2014
champ Eric Yorba proved he
can also win in sloppy mud,
emerging victorious at the AMA
Big 6 West Coast Grand Prix
(WCGP) Series feature race.
The 90-minute event served as
the highlight of the 29th Annual
Shamrocks/Doug Heil Memorial
Grand Prix hosted by the Sham-
rocks Motorcycle Club, round
five of the AMA District 37/MSR
Big 6 Grand Prix Series at the
Primm Valley Casino Resorts
motorsports facility, April 30-
May 1.
The Maxxis/FMF/RPM Rac-
ing KTM rider said, "I love the
mud! I got my first Big 6 win in
the mud at Glen Helen three
years ago. I felt great and tried
to keep a strong pace the whole
time. Eventually, I was able
to get by [early leader Dalton
Shirey] on the pavement [about
an hour into it] and just kept
hammering down and tried to
build up a gap and ride smooth
all the way to the finish."
Yorba is now the second rider
with two wins, and after a rela-
tively slow start to his season,
he moves up to second in points
behind Blayne Thompson who
won the first two rounds and
finished third at Primm.
