everyone was pushing
hard. I was up front the
whole time and kept chip-
ping away and managed
to get the win. I just tried
to keep it together after
that. I tied on points with
Colton but he got the nod
for the overall, which is
a little bummer, but I'm
happy to be on the box."
After returning from
injury, Blazusiak was also
happy to be back on the
podium, even if it wasn't
the top step.
It was a tough night for
championship contend-
ers Jonny Walker and
Cody Webb. Both factory
KTM riders had sub-par finishes,
effectively tightening up the
points chase. Webb collected
a dismal fifth place on the night
after finishing fourth and second
in the first two races and then
crashing out of the third.
"It was a rough night," Webb
said. "I had good speed all day,
but couldn't put it together. A big
crash in the final heat messed
up my kill switch. I never gave up
and did everything I could to get
back into the race."
Fortunately for Webb, he was
not injured in the crash, and
reports he will be ready for
the final—he is now third in the
championship, seven points out
of the lead.
Prague featured the single-
race Women's championship,
which was won by Sandra
Gomez. Although the Husqvarna
rider tied on points with Sherco
rider Emma Bristow, it was
Gomez' win in race two that
secured the title.
"It's an amazing feeling to be
world champion!" Gomez ex-
claimed. "It's been a difficult win-
ter following my foot injury and
I couldn't practice as much as I
wanted. We decided to switch to
the 250 two-stroke Husqvarna
for the new season (from a 125)
but I had limited time to train on
it. I'm super happy with the result
here in Prague." CN

and also topped
