HAAKER SCORES AT PRAGUE SUPERENDURO
C
olton Haaker has been
close multiple times, and he
finally clinched an overall victory
at the FIM SuperEnduro World
Championship. The Rockstar
Energy Husqvarna rider cel-
ebrated his career first GP win
at round five of the series in
Prague, the penultimate round
of the championship. What
made his victory even sweeter
was advancing in the points
chase to within a single point
of the lead. With only a single
round remaining, the world
championship will likely come
down to a showdown between
Haaker and Jonny Walker in the
season finale next weekend in
Madrid.
Haaker was joined on the po-
dium by fellow American Taylor
Robert, who finished second,
and defending champion Taddy
Blazusiak who collected third
place.
"Things just sort of went my
way tonight," said Haaker. "It
was hard to stay out of trouble
but I did my best. Getting the
win in race two was a major
help and then fighting back to
second in race three sealed the
deal. I'm just one point off the
championship lead so the final
round in Madrid is going to be
good."
Taylor Robert actually tied on
points with Haaker in Prague
(with a 1-3-3 score), and could
have celebrated his career-first
win, but had to settle for runner-
up honors on account of Haak-
er's better finish in the final race.
"I'm more than pleased with
getting my first-ever podium in
SuperEnduro," said Robert.
"It feels like it's been a while
coming so I'm glad to have got
it done. Race one was crazy—
