can see, Tomac and Dungey
were in a class of their own at
Daytona.
In terms of championship
points, Tomac moved up from
sixth to fourth with the win, and
Dungey extended his champi-
onship lead to 39 points over
Ken Roczen, who suffered a
bad start in the main, with eight
rounds still to run.
The question as we move
forward through the final half of
the season has to be whether or
not Tomac can carry this speed
and confidence back into more
confined quarters for the final
eight rounds of the series.

was going to walk away with it
just as he did in his heat, but
after pulling out a lead initially,
Dungey was able to reel him
back in. For the entire 20 laps,
Dungey stayed between one
second and two seconds behind
Tomac, but the pressure didn't
affect Tomac. He took his first
win of the season, and his first
win as a member of Monster
Energy Kawasaki.
Dungey finished just over
two seconds behind in second,
while his teammate Marvin
Musquin came across the line
Not only was
this Tomac's
first victory of
the year, it was
also Kawasaki's
first 450SX win
since 2014.
