Coming into the Daytona Su-
percross, Red Bull KTM's Ryan
Dungey had won five of the eight
rounds. The day started well for
Dungey, but he soon felt as if he
was chasing settings somewhat.
"[There were a] couple
changes out of the heat race
that helped us, and team Red
Bull KTM came down [to Florida]
this week, and the preparation
was good," Dungey said. "With
how it felt in the heat race, and
in practice, I was happy with the
performance of the bike [in the
main event]."
But the guy who didn't
struggle at all, at any point, in
Daytona, was Monster Energy
Kawasaki's Eli Tomac. Tomac set
the fastest time during qualifying,
then won his six-lap heat race
by over six seconds ahead of
Dungey.
As he said, Dungey made
some changes to his setup after
that heat, and in the main event,
Dungey snatched the holeshot,
but Tomac was hot on his heels
