ing his way to last place.
Davalos took over and looked
like he belonged up front, going
wire-to-wire for the win. Stew-
art wasted no time in getting
by Darryn Durham, who was
riding the wheels off a privateer
Yamaha. As Malcolm set chase
after Davalos, Plessinger and
the "other" Martin (Jeremy) were
mired in seventh and ninth.
Plessinger was impressive as he
fought to an eventual third, with
Martin fourth, but it was Hill who
looked like the hungriest rider on
the track, coming from last place
and climbing all over Martin's
back at the finish.
Malcolm was slowed at one
point when, halfway through the
race, he plowed into McElrath,
who was getting up from his third
crash, this time in the sand turn.
Stewart recovered quickly and
rode well, but Davalos was in
total control and never felt threat-
ened for the win.
