DAKOTA MAMOLA JOINS
MEEN MOTORSPORTS
D
akota Mamola is the latest
big name to join the Mo-
toAmerica paddock, after com-
ing to terms with the HB Racing
Meen Motorsports team to race
in the 2016 MotoAmerica Super-
stock 600 Championship.
The son of AMA Hall of Fame
member, Randy, has been on a
racing hiatus for 18 months after
last competing in the Spanish
CEV Moto2 Championship, and
is excited about the prospect of
racing for an American champi-
onship with a the current Super-
stock 600 number one outfit.
"I am truly confident going
into this MotoAmerica season,"
Dakota said. "I am in the best
shape ever and all the parts are
there with Meen Motorsports
and HB Racing to make this a
great year. I know it won't be
easy and there are going to be
many challenges with a new
team, new tracks, new series,
new competition, and new
country. But here's the deal: I'm
looking forward to every one of
those new challenges.
Mamola had his first hit out with
the new team at Thunderhill last
week, slowly reacclimatizing him-
self to a racing motorcycle after a
year in the MotoGP paddock as
Cal Crutchlow's right hand man.
"I've ridden dirt track, Su-
permotard and motocross, but
I haven't ridden an actual road
racer like this in a long time,"
Mamola said. "I'm enjoying
it and I want to thank Ameen
[Sajjadi, Meen Motorsports
team owner] and the whole HB
Racing team for giving me this
chance. Hopefully, we can do
something good. It's good to be
back here in the US." CN
