Brabec's Role On The Team
My job was, of course, to
help Joan [Barreda] and Paulo
[Goncalves, the two veterans
and stars on the team] because
I was always starting behind
them. Being one of the first guys
on the team to arrive to them
[if they had trouble], of course
my job was to help them if they
needed help. I didn't really need
to do very much because they
had their own problems and they
were able to get it fixed before I
got there.
That was my job, to help them
and keep moving forward and,
of course, to learn about Dakar.
I think I did pretty well. They're
really excited and they talked to
me about a year or two contract,
so I'm pretty excited about that.
They're really happy on my fin-
ish, for sure.
Time With Toby
I talked with [eventual win-
ner] Toby [Price] freaking almost
every day. He's pretty cool. He
doesn't let anything bother him;
he kind of does his own thing
and goes day by day. That guy's
crazy, so fast! He's definitely re-
ally smooth and in control of the
Dust, he's used to that.
Dakar is often
compared to
Baja; Brabec
says Dakar is
much faster.
That's fast!!
