book]. I think it kind of messes
with you because you look down
and you see all these different
colors then you get confused.
Riding The HRC Works Bike
The bike is awesome! I think
it's one of the lightest rally bikes
out there, definitely one of the
fastest, by far. It's one of a kind.
Everything on it is full factory,
carbon-fiber everywhere. The
only thing that's not carbon fiber
on it is the front fender. It's pretty
high technology. I think every-
thing [electrical] has its own fuse
on the bike so if something stops
working, you just kind of look for
the [blown] fuse and replace it.
The bike's awesome and we're
going to fix the minor problems
that we had out there in Dakar
and go for it again next year.
Being On The HRC Team
I think every day there was
someone on the team that was
helping each rider. Literally,
every day you'd finish and you'd
go to your motor home and get
undressed and you'd put all your
gear outside. You'd mark your
road book and relax for two hours,
then you'd go back outside and
all your gear is already washed,
folded up or hanging up drying.
Every day we had clean helmet
pads, clean boots and washed
gear from the pressure washer.
The mechanics had the bikes
freaking looking like brand-new ev-
ery single day! It was awesome.
THAT WAS
MY JOB,
TO HELP
THEM AND
KEEP MOVING
FORWARD AND,
OF COURSE, TO
LEARN ABOUT
DAKAR. I THINK
I DID PRETTY
WELL.
Smile! Brabec enjoyed what
was a new experience for him at
Dakar—spectators! You don't get
a whole lot of them at national
hare & hounds. Dakar was
crawling with them.
