wire win in the Arenacross
Lites win earlier that eve-
ning, Tucker backed it up
by leading nearly every lap
of the premier main event
aboard his Triangle Cycles
Yamaha. Tucker held off
pressure from Hayes and
Faith, and it wasn't until the
final lap that a daring pass
by Hayes relieved Tucker
of the lead. Hayes took the
checkered flag only three-
tenths of a second over
Tucker with Faith in a close
third place.
Faith's overall win puts
him in the lead for the cham-
pionship after one round, but his
teammate Hayes is only a single
point behind. Sewell it techni-
cally tied on third in points with
Steinke and Blose, but Sewell
gets the nod for now on account
of his main event win.
Defending champion Kyle
Regal had a rough weekend at
the season opener. The Rock-
star Energy Husqvarna rider
crashed in the second lap of the
main event, falling all the way to
the tail end of the field. He had
his work cut out for him in the
remaining laps as he fought his
way through the field, but he was
only able to climb back into 10
th
in the first main.
His fortunes didn't improve
much in the second main where
he got off to a better start, but
lost several positions during the
race and slipped back to ninth
place.
The only thing that seemed to
go Regal's way in Cincinnati was
the Head 2 Head Challenge.
Regal topped the bracket race
segment to pickup an extra two
championship points, though he
still starts his 2016 Arenacross
title defense with a disadvan-
tage. CN
Jacob Hayes nearly took the overall
win but had to settle for second.
Defending champion Kyle Regal's season is off to a rough start.
