WEBB TAKES FIM SUPERENDURO OPENER
O
nly a mere two weeks after
the southern California
season finale, 2015 AMA Endu-
roCross Champion Cody Webb
switched teams, switched bikes
and switched continents, still
managing to come out on top.
In his first race with the Factory
KTM team, Webb rode to victory
in the opening round of the FIM
SuperEnduro World Champion-
ship in Lodz, Poland, topping
Jonny Walker and his old rival
Taddy Blazusiak.
Of the three main events,
Webb scored two wins and a
sixth-place. His final tally was
enough to edge out Walker, who
had a consistent night ending
with three second-place finishes.
"To come away from round
one with the overall is just fan-
tastic," said Webb. "I felt really
good out there tonight. The
track was really fast but I had a
good flow. Race one was near
perfect. I got a decent start,
followed Jonny and then got into
the lead. Race two was just a bit
of a lottery but then to win the
final and take the overall capped
off a great night."
For Walker, it wasn't quite as
sweet, but he was happy to start
the season with a consistent
performance—something he was
unable to do last year. "[Second
place] wasn't what I wanted but it
was pretty close—only one point
away," said Walker. "There wasn't
much in it between Cody and
me at the end of the night. Three
second-place results were great.
The SuperPole just cost me the
top step of the podium, but I can
leave Poland happy and look
forward to Germany."
